Oregon should be a place where families can afford to live, rural communities are thriving, and everyone has access to quality, affordable health care and meaningful job opportunities. I’m running for State Representative in rural Linn County's House District 11 to make our state work for the people who live here — not for special interests or national political agendas.
For far too long, the legislators representing House District 11 in rural Linn County have been ineffective at delivering on these priorities for local folks like you and me. We need a new approach.
Families feel squeezed from every direction: high fuel prices and electricity bills, rising food and health care costs, and the price of housing and childcare. If elected, I'll prioritize passing legislation that brings down the cost of living, creates jobs, and makes things like health care, groceries, housing, energy and childcare more affordable. And I'll fight policies that drive these costs up. It's time for practical solutions — not partisan battles — to lower costs and create jobs for Oregonians. And no one should have to choose between medical care and paying their bills. We must not only bring down health care costs, but improve health care access - especially in rural areas.
Rural Oregon deserves the same respect and investment as our cities. The Oregon Legislature needs to recognize the value of small towns, agriculture, timber, hunting, and fishing to our state's economy and quality of life. We can conserve God-given natural resources like clean water, wildlife habitat and arable land while also creating jobs and economic opportunities in rural areas.
We can grow Oregon’s economy by supporting the small businesses, farmers, and workers who are the backbone of our local communities. Oregon's economic development resources should be focused on revitalizing rural Oregon, not just creating new jobs in big cities and suburbs.
If you believe in a brighter future for rural Linn county, please join my campaign. If you are able to donate, click here to make a contribution. Oregon has a refundable political donation tax credit that allows up to $100 in donations per year for joint filers, an $50 for single filers in, making it effectively cost free to donate this amount to my campaign. And if you live anywhere in House District 11 from Scio to Harrisburg, Jefferson to Sweet Home, or Brownsville to Lebanon and want to volunteer or put up a sign to show your support and spread the word about my campaign, click here to sign up and get involved.
