On the Issues
I've made it pretty clear throughout this campaign that my top priorities in the State Legislature will be to bring down the cost of living by making health care, housing and utilities more affordable while at the same time promoting rural jobs and investments in our small towns. But there are a ton of issue the Legislature deals with, including education, transportation, agriculture and forestry, land use (including rules for industrial development like data centers), government ethics rules and agency oversight, and your rights and civil liberties. So if you haven't seen it yet, check out the Issues page on my site, which lays out my position on several of these topics. Or read one of the Election Guides that some of our local news organizations have put out about the House District 11 race. Here are a few to get you started. And if you don't see something or want to learn more or ask me a question, please reach out at ivan@ruralindependent.com or 541-791-6796.
1) Oregon Capital Chronicle 2026 Voter Guide - A comprehensive run down on many of the top issues the Legislature will be tackling in 2027 as well as "What’s the biggest issue in your district? How would you address it?" Though both candidates were given weeks to respond to this questionnaire, you'll only find my answers because "Only Maluski responded to questions."
2) Sweet Home New Era - 2026 General Election Guide - Covers a series of important local and statewide issues
And again, be sure to check out the Issues page on my site, which lays out my position on several top issues. And don't forget to vote by November 3.
