Where's Jami Cate?
The most important job of a State Representative is to listen to their constituents and represent their interests when it comes to voting on legislation. On both of these core job requirements, Jami Cate has let us down.
Jami Cate doesn’t hold public town hall meetings.
One of the best ways to hear from constituents is to hold public meetings where they can ask questions and convey their opinions. The last time Jami Cate held a public town hall meeting open to all her constituents was over three years ago, in 2021. Most State legislators hold regular public meetings for constituents, but not Jami Cate. As your State Representative, I will hold public meetings for constituents so they can make their voices heard.
Jami Cate regularly votes against the interests of rural Linn County.
It’s easy for politicians to talk a good game about the values they represent, but in the end, it’s all about how they vote on issues that impact their constituents. Time and again, and often without any explanation, Jami Cate has voted against rural Linn County. Here are just a few examples.
When it came helping rural communities:
Jami Cate voted no on a bill to help rural residents access needed prescription medications. (HB 5546, 2023)
Jami Cate voted against expanding rural broadband connectivity to help rural areas with high speed internet access. (HB 3201, 2023)

Jami Cate voted no on a bill to provide funding needed to upgrade Sweet Home’s wastewater treatment facilities. (HB 5524, 2023)

When it came to helping our kids succeed:
Jami Cate was the only no vote on a bill to establish Oregon’s Early Literacy Success Initiative, Birth Through Five Literacy Plan, and Early Literacy Success Community Grant program. (HB 3198, 2023)
Jami Cate voted against investing in community college workforce programs, and grants for community college career and technical education (CTE) programs to prepare young people for high-wage jobs in high-demand industries. (HB 1545, 2022)
Jami Cate voted against legislation to support breakfast and lunch programs in our schools. (HB 5014, 2023)

It’s time for a new State Representative for House District 11.
Jame Cate doesn’t hold public meetings for Linn County residents. She rarely reaches out to her constituents for our opinions and often does not respond to constituent calls, emails and meeting requests. And time and again, she has voted against bills that would help the people of her district.
Jami Cate has let us down. On November 5, cast your vote for a new approach.
